Sichuan-Jiuzhou International Brewing Technology Symposium
 
In July 2000, Professor Zhang Wenxue in Sichuan University and Professor Kenji Kida in Kumamoto University jointly launched the first Sichuan-Jiuzhou International Brewing Technology Symposium. In August 2002, Professor Zhang Wenxue as the leader of Chinese representatives attended the second Symposium held at Kumamoto University, Kumamoto, Japan. In April 2004, the third Symposium co-organized by the Sichuan fermentation Institute and Sichuan green food Association was held at Sichuan University, Chengdu, China In September 2007, Professor Zhang Wenxue as the leader of Chinese representatives attended the fourth Symposium held at Kagoshima University, Kumamoto, Japan. In June 2009, 10 Japanese delegates and more than 200 Chinese delegates attended the fifth Symposium jointly sponsored by Sichuan University and Sichuan fermentation Institute. In October 2011, International Symposium on East Asian brewing and bio-engineering technology (also Known as the sixth Sichuan-Jiuzhou International Symposium on brewing technology) sponsored by Sichuan University and Sichuan University Jinjiang College was held in Chengdu, Qionglai and Meishan. In November 2013, the seventh Sichuan-Jiuzhou International Symposium on brewing technology sponsored by Sichuan University Jinjiang College, Sichuan Food Science and Technology Institute and Tokyo Kasei University was held at Tokyo and Osaka, Japan.
 
In September 2015, the eighth China-Japan brewing/food/nutrition/environment conference and the first China-Japanese traditional food innovation forum was hold in Chengdu , Sichuan province in China. the general assembly by, Japan institute of food science and technology of China biological engineering institute, sichuan university, sichuan food science and technology academy, nutrition society of sichuan province, sichuan university jinjiang college joint undertaking.
